Maine Coon Polydactyl International

Cat Shows

Part of the goal of this group is to help the Maine Coon Polydactyl cat be accepted for full show status. Polydactyly is currently allowed for the Pixie-Bobs which has passed the genetics committe within TICA. The polydactyl was always intended to be part of the show scene but with Maine Coon Breeders struggling to get these cats accepted as a breed within their own right it was decided to achieve this first and add the polys later. Very sadly this never happened and breeders started to selectively breed out this natural trait. The polydactyl Maine Coon is part of the Maine Coon heritage, has it's own gene pool and is slowly becoming accepted within the breeding community.

Currently some individuals are showing within new traits at TICA. The following links have been provided to let you know how we are all doing in our endeavours and to provide a point of contact for upcoming shows, if you are interested in speaking to someone about the polys.
