How did you arrive at Bella's pet name?
Bella is Italian for beautiful, a good name for a beautiful polycoon. Besides a beautiful look, she is the most adoring cat of our group.
Are there any special reasons why you specifically selected her and why are these important to you ?
Yes, first of all her interesting pedigree, the combination of American foundation and American show lines, second the way she looks and her character.
Can you tell us a little bit about Bella's toe configuration?
Bella is a 3WD, 6,6,5,4 with a thumb on both front paws
What do you like about having a polydactyl cat?
It’s great, it’s funny to see what Bella can do with her paws, but also the fact to preserve the polydactyle maine coon and make it more known among maine coon breeders.
Are there many Maine Coon Polydactyl Cats in The Netherlands?
For such a small country, yes.
What sort of reaction do you get generally from people in The Netherlands about having a Maine Coon Polydcatyl Cat?
Most people love to see all the funny tricks such as playing fetch. Some people are generally not positive about the Poly’s and think they are polluting the bloodlines of the ‘normal’ Maine Coons. We respect their opinion but we don’t agree with this opinion..
What are your favourite things about Bella?
She is our daughters best friend, sitting on her lap and stay there for hours to be stroked. She is very tender and easy going and never afraid or aggressive.
