Kitten List & Web Site
Sheila Curtis (UK)

I came to cats a lot later in life having always been a dog lover. We run our own business Dataworks, who incidentally sponsor this site. We breed Maine Coons under the Indys prefix in the UK. I am currently based in the North West where I live with my 3 sons and long time suffering partner David, along with our 2 golden retrievers.

I love the TICA way and am also Vice President of CoonTICA Cat Club. The whole family get fairly involved in showing from taking on roles such as Show Management, Entry Clerking, Hall Managing and also helping with editorials within the cat clubs along with their websites etc. One of my children is also involved in TICA Junior Achievers here in the UK. I am always happy to cat chat and help where I can, we are all a very friendly and easy going bunch.

I joined MCPI after rescuing my multi-toed MC mix Finbar.  I knew very little about Maine Coons or polydactyls and I searched on the web for a place where I could learn about this magnificent breed. What a godsend to find MCPI and have access to all the experienced breeders and MC poly lovers from all over the world!  I hope that my lack of knowledge on breeding, showing etc. will be balanced by my absolute and honest desire to promote  this exquisite animal: the Maine Coon Polydactyl. I have a long background in writing and editing.  I've written for numerous publications including the New York Times, Better Health and Connecticut magazine.  I've taught creative writing in local community centers, copy-edited Golf World Magazine and have worked for numerous ad agencies writing ad copy.

I live in Connecticut, USA with my two Golden Retrievers, Archie & Beau, my gray tabby DSH Tipper and my beloved Finbar MC poly mix.  Oh yes, and my husband!
